Our own Gunnar Esiason and Jerry Cahill – both living, breathing and succeeding with cystic fibrosis – will be running in the inaugural Boomer’s Cystic Fibrosis Run to Breathe.
Team Boomer is working closely with the New York Road Runners on this first-ever 10K, which will be held July 9 in Central Park.
This is the first Team Boomer event run by Gunnar, a 20-year-old junior at Boston College. Fifty-five-year-old Jerry, a longtime BEF volunteer, founded the Team Boomer program and is a veteran road runner. Jerry, who is on the waiting list for a double-lung transplant, will be wearing an oxygen tank as he runs.
