The Boomer Esiason Foundation has posted a new video podcast featuring Valerie Batz, a 52-year-old with cystic fibrosis who discusses life before and after a double-lung transplant.
Valerie, who had her transplant 13 years ago, said that pre-transplant, she was frequently sick, everything was an effort, and due to low oxygen levels, she was always tired. While “life post-transplant initially is a little bumpy, you will get through it, and it is worth it,” she says. Today, Valerie stays active and is hoping to spend her 25th wedding anniversary in Paris.
This “LIVING. BREATHING. SUCCEEDING.” Podcast/Vodcast is made possible through an unrestricted educational grant from Genentech to the Boomer Esiason Foundation.
