COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The football student-athlete led Maryland Chapter of Uplifting Athletes will count on its offense to deliver touchdowns for its home game at Byrd Stadium against Indiana on November 21 by holding a Touchdown Pledge Drive.
Uplifting Athletes is a national non-profit organization with 25 chapters that support our mission to make a positive and lasting impact on the rare disease community through the power of college football.
Each touchdown the Terps score against Indiana will benefit the Maryland Chapter and its efforts to raise awareness of and research funds for the rare disease cystic fibrosis.
The 2015 Maryland football team is asking its fans to support the student-athlete led Uplifting Athletes Chapter by making a pledge through the Terps online Touchdown Pledge Drive site at: pledgeit.org/maryland2015
Formed in 2009, the Maryland Chapter is a champion for the rare disease cystic fibrosis. Former Maryland quarterback and NFL star Boomer Esiason provided the inspiration for Maryland to start an Uplifting Athletes Chapter. Esiason’s son, Gunnar, continues his ongoing battle with CF.
