WFAN’s Morning Show ‘Boomer & Carton’ will Broadcast Live at the Finish Line on Sept. 24th
The Boomer Esiason Foundation (BEF) is excited to announce its second Bike to Breathe Event: Jerry and Em’s CF Adventure Continues, a 500-mile bike ride that begins in Bar Harbor Maine and ends in New York City at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia where CBS RADIO station WFAN Sports Radio 660AM/101.9FM will broadcast the morning drive program ‘Boomer & Carton’ live at the finish line on Thursday, Sept. 24th from 6:00-10:00AM, ET. This Team Boomer event series encourages people with cystic fibrosis (CF) and their families to stay active and exercise – an important factor in the health and wellness in any person battling CF.
“We are so proud of Jerry and Em for embarking on another incredible journey to raise awareness for BEF and CF. As a CF Dad, I love seeing people like these two fight their disease and inspire an entire community,” said Boomer Esiason, Chairman of BEF.
“The Boomer Esiason Foundation has been instrumental in supporting doctors, researchers and patients in the fight against CF,” said Dr. Joshua Sonett, Chief of General Thoracic Surgery and Director of The Price Family Center for Comprehensive Chest Care at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia. “We’re thrilled to host the foundation as we all cheer on Jerry and Em in the final leg of their journey.”
Jerry Cahill, a 59-year-old CF patient and double lung transplant survivor, is living proof that an active, healthy lifestyle positively affects his quality of life. He is currently BEF’s CF Ambassador, volunteering for the Foundation to help the CF community in the here and now.
Emily Schaller is a 33-year-old CF patient who started cycling, running and exercising in 2007, when she was introduced to Cahill’s story, because she was “sick of being sick.” At the same time, she started the Rock CF Foundation to heighten public awareness about her disease and to raise money for research.

- Day 2 (Sept. 15) – Rockland, ME to Portland, ME
- Day 3 (Sept. 16) – Portland, ME to Boston, MA
- Day 4 – 7 (Sept. 17-19) Boston, MA
- Day 8 (Sept. 20) – Boston, MA to Providence, RI
- Day 9 (Sept. 21) – Providence, RI to Hartford, CT
- Day 10 (Sept. 22) – Hartford, CT to New Haven, CT
- Day 11 (Sept. 23) – New Haven, CT to Norwalk, CT
- Day 12 (Sept. 24) – Norwalk, CT to New York, NY

Throughout his career in professional sports and the media, Boomer Esiason has been a committed and active participant in many charitable causes, but he began focusing on cystic fibrosis in 1993 when his son, Gunnar, was diagnosed with the disease.
