"I try to reassure everyone who has been affected by this disease that CF isn't the end of the world if you don't want it to be."
The experience of living with cystic fibrosis is markedly different today than it was decades ago. Thanks to the discovery of the CF gene, the availability of effective drug therapies and advances in technology, the 30,000 Americans who deal with the disease day in and day out are living longer and fuller lives. In a word, they are thriving.

There is a multitude of organizations working to support the cystic fibrosis community, as well as a variety of tools and information available to help people with CF not just live, but thrive.

NYRR Opens Registration for 2012 Boomer’s CF Run to Breathe

The New York Road Runners have opened registration for the Second Annual Boomer's Cystic Fibrosis Run to Breathe.

The 10K run-walk will be held July 21 in New York City's Central Park and is open to runners at all levels. Participation in this event will be capped, and we expect it to sell out.

REGISTRATION

Go to the New York Road Runners website to register and get official information on Boomer's CF Run to Breathe.

FUNDRAISING

In an effort to ensure that Boomer's CF Run to Breathe is able to make a significant and meaningful contribution to the fight against cystic fibrosis, we encourage all participants to adopt a fundraising goal of $500 for the event.

Run to Breathe participants who raise at least $500 by July 1 will receive: an official Team Boomer t-shirt (manufactured by Under Armour); an official Team Boomer backpack; and an official Team Boomer sports wristband.

Join the fight, run for a cause and fundraise for a cure. For fundraising tips, sponsor sheets and directions on how to create a FirstGiving.com profile for online fundraising, please visit Team Boomer's Fundraising 101 page on our website.
