The experience of living with cystic fibrosis is markedly different today than it was decades ago. Thanks to the discovery of the CF gene, the availability of effective drug therapies and advances in technology, the 30,000 Americans who deal with the disease day in and day out are living longer and fuller lives. In a word, they are thriving.

There is a multitude of organizations working to support the cystic fibrosis community, as well as a variety of tools and information available to help people with CF not just live, but thrive.

Boomer Esiason to Co-Host ‘Live! with Kelly’ Show on January 11

Boomer Esiason will be the guest co-host on ABC's "Live! With Kelly" show on Wednesday, January 11.

Kelly Ripa's longtime co-host, 80-year-old Regis Philbin, left the show in November. A variety of guests have co-hosted with Ripa since then, and the week of January 9 will feature personalities from the world of sports.

According to the show's schedule, the January 11 show will include a visit from actress Jane Krakowski, who will preview the new season of "30 Rock," and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino will speak about heading back to the boardwalk in the newest season of "Jersey Shore." Plus, Kelly and Boomer will announce the top five wedding couple finalists in "LIVE's Hawaiian Dream Wedding Giveaway," and "Meal Makeovers" week will continue with nutrition specialist Dr. Melina Jampolis sharing tips for a more nutritional dinner.
