BOOMER ESIASON FOUNDATION PROGRAMS

The Foundation works to directly affect the lives of CF patients around the country through scholarships and transplant grants to aid families. These and other philanthropic programs are critical to meeting the evolving needs of those with cystic fibrosis.

  1. Cystic Fibrosis Scholarships
The Boomer Esiason Foundation offers several scholarships to assist people with cystic fibrosis pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees. As therapeutic developments increase the lifespan of CF patients, the need for a scholarship program for these students has emerged.

  2. Transplant Grants
While the cost of transplantation is typically covered by most insurance companies, travel and relocation costs are typically absorbed by the patient’s families. The BEF Lung Transplant Grants Program is designed to help families cover the expenses that are not covered by their insurance.

  3. CF Wind Sprints
This series of short-format videos are hosted by Jerry Cahill, BEF's Volunteer Director for Education & Team Boomer. The videos address a variety of topics useful to the CF community, such as traveling, nutrition, exercise and treatments.
    Episode 1: Introduction
    Episode 2: Sterilizing Nebulizers
    Episode 3: Simple Exercises
    Episode 4: Sinus Irrigation
