New CF Wind Sprint Looks at Transitioning from Pediatric to Adult CF Care

02/10/2012

The Boomer Esiason Foundation has released Episode 22 of the Cystic Fibrosis Wind Sprint series, which examines transitioning from pediatric to adult CF care. It is the first in a three-part series on the major transitioning stages for people with cystic fibrosis.

In this episode, we meet Jillian Monitello, a native of Long Island, N.Y. Jillian candidly talks about her experience in transitioning from pediatric CF care to adult CF care. Jillian recalls the stress she felt when first told she would need to move into adult CF care and also shares some tips about making that transition. In the end, thanks to the guidance of her care team, Jillian experienced a smooth transition.

The next transitioning Wind Sprints will discuss transitioning from high school to college, and from college to the career world.  These CF Wind Sprints are made possible by a grant from Novartis Pharmaceuticals.

BEF invites the CF community to submit questions and topics for future CF Wind Sprints via its Facebook fan page or on Twitter.
